Fat Burning Workouts

Workouts that burn fat and build muscle boost your dieting efforts. It’s not enough to just cut calories. You need to have a workout plan to get rid of that unwanted fat and build stronger muscle tone. In just a few weeks, you’ll see the physical benefits of adding fat burning workouts to your daily routine.

1. Get Your Heart Pumping

Fat burning workouts should increase your heart rate. Aerobic exercise gets your heart pumping, increases oxygen flow throughout your body and raises your metabolism. You don’t have to enroll in a gym or buy fancy equipment to start burning fat. Swimming, walking, hiking and jogging are easy ways to get your heart going and get rid of unwanted fat. Add aerobics to your schedule at least three times a week to see the fat melt away.

2. Make A Muscle

Remember when you were a child and made a muscle for everyone with your arm? Building lean muscles helps eliminate fat. Lifting weights and resistance training are excellent ways to get leaner, tighter muscles. If you don’t have weights, you can lift one pound cans and increase your repetitions to see a noticeable difference. Incorporate strength building exercises into your routine at least three times weekly.

3. Discover The Benefits Of Cross Training

Cross training is a combination of aerobics and strength training. Alternating both types of exercise is a sure way to burn reduce the fat content in your body and build shapely muscles. Workout different groups of muscles everyday. For example, one day work on your arms and another day work on your legs. Give your muscles 48 hours rest to repair themselves before you workout that particular muscle group again.

4. Workouts Should Be Fun

Workouts that burn fat should also be fun. When you enjoy exercising, you look forward to doing it everyday. If you don’t enjoy your workouts, it’s time to mix it up. Play tennis, go golfing, shoot a few hoops on the basketball court or try kayaking. There are many ways to burn fat and have fun at the same time. Don’t restrict yourself to a gym or workout DVD that you lost interest in long ago. Dreading workouts means you’ll eventually slack off. Turn on your favorite upbeat music, do something you love and you’ll get rid of fat sooner than you think.

5. Getting Motivated

If you still have trouble getting motivated, make yourself accountable. Establish fitness goals each week. Create a workout schedule, weigh yourself and take your measurements to track your progress. Do it on a specific day each week so you know when you’ll be facing the bottom line. Ask a friend to workout with you so you know you have to do it. If you don’t have a workout buddy, join an aerobics class so you feel obligated to attend. You can even spend more quality time with your pet by scheduling a daily walk with your dog.

Cross training is the ideal combination for burning fat and building muscle. In less time than you imagined possible, you’ll be lean, fit and feeling fantastic.

How important is exercise to losing weight?

Are you familiar with this misconception: “EXERCISE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF LOSING WEIGHT. PEOPLE WHO ARE LEAN SPEND HOURS UPON HOURS IN THE GYM.” I’m not sure if you believe that, but I assure you that plenty of people are brainwashed with this myth. For millions of people, when they see someone who is in great shape their immediate response is: “they must work out A LOT” or “they must spend HOURS in the gym.” Don’t get me wrong here, exercise is important and is something that is critical.
I will tell you that it is an absolute necessity to living life lean BUT, in comparison to a proper mindset and nutrition, it is… The least important aspect of living life lean! However, if you visit your local gym or fitness center you’ll certainly see tons of people who haven’t gotten the memo. I always see people who are well into their workout when I arrive at the gym and then when I leave they still have a ways to go. However despite this, year after year they remain overweight and look pretty much the EXACT same! I reveal the correct way to exercise in the book Living Life Lean, but I’ll give you a big hint right now to what the magic formula is… Quality over quantity! In fact, spending too much time exercising can actually hinder your progress… But let me be also clear about something: exercise IS, without a doubt, one of the best investments of time you can ever make in your life. Period. The point you need to understand however, is that without having a firm grasp on proper mindset/beliefs and proper nutrition, you will never reap anywhere near the full value of your investment. This is exactly why it’s important to be aware of this misconception…

Can lifting weights make you thinner?

Weight lifting makes you big and bulky. Are you familiar with this misconception? This is a belief that unfortunately so many of us still have. Millions of people automatically associate weight lifting to big, bulky and muscular bodies. Millions of people believe that you should only lift weights if you want to “get bigger.” Not only is this completely false, but if you ignore weight training (or strength training) then you’re missing out on one of the single most effective fat loss methods in existence. In fact, you should immediately begin associating weight lifting (or any type of strength training) to living life lean.
Yes, weight lifting can certainly be a part of a weight gaining program as well, but lifting weights alone is not what makes you bulky. Do you want to hear the real reason why people get bigger? They eat lots of food! In fact, it’s virtually impossible for someone to gain a significant amount of weight if they don’t increase the amount of calories they take in. Take heavy-weight body builders for example. I’m talking about the ones that most people associate with body building. Now let’s be clear: they ARE huge. But this is mainly because they take in a very large amount of calories on most (or all) days of the week. The simple fact is that muscles are essential to a lean and toned body that burns fat on autopilot 24/7, yet muscles continue to be one of the most overlooked components to losing fat effectively and permanently. Trust me, if you’re serious about losing fat quickly and permanently, then this is not something you want to ignore…
